On Thursday the 6th of September the students of St Patrick's primary were lucky enough to experience a live readers theatre of the storybook “Wolf” by Becky Bloom performed by their amazing teachers.
Reader's theater is a style of theater in which the actors do not memorize their lines. Actors use only vocal expression to help the audience understand the story rather than visual storytelling.
The storybook “Wolf” by Becky Bloom is about A wolf entering a farmyard intending to scare the animals and is greatly disappointed to discover that all the farm animals are all busy reading. Through the animals' condescension, the wolf is inspired to learn to read!
Students truly enjoyed the reenactment of their favorite storybook. Many laughs and smiles were shared amongst the staff and students on the day. A big Thank you to the wonderfully talented teachers who performed and to the teachers who acted as set ninjas preparing the set for the children.

Our Year 6 students attended the 2023 Youth Eco Summit 🧐 at Sydney Olympic Park on Thursday alongside several other schools from Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese. Our senior students took part in a workshop presented by #mynrma and learnt about the features and benefits of the latest modes of transport 🚘🚁 heading our way in the not too distant future. They also had the opportunity to learn about the significance of Aboriginal storytelling in dance by partaking in an Indigenous dance workshop led by Aboriginal leaders from Cairns. Our ZING Activ challenge showcase was such an exciting evening! 🥳 The students danced with great enthusiasm and you could hear their cheers throughout the stadium. Thank you 📣 to all of the St. Patrick’s staff, parents, friends and community who came to support the ☘️ students. It was wonderful to see that we had a number of students place for both the Jive and Tango partner dance categories! 💃🏽🕺🏻 A special congratulations to Year 6 who were the overall winners in the Partner Dances! 🏆 We express our thanks and gratitude to Jorgia from ZING Activ and Mrs Khoury for their tireless efforts in preparing the students for the 🙏💐 show. Our St Pat's ☘️ Guildford debaters have worked so hard this term. We are very proud 🫶 of how Ayla, Christabel, Hayden and Irini from Year 5 conducted themselves over the last few weeks as they debated 🎤 their way through a range of topics. They faced many challenges and have been triumphant 🌟 for the past four weeks. Today they continued to represent our school with great pride at the Grand Final! Although the result didn’t work in their favour, having won four out of five debates over the past several weeks is still 👏 impressive! They are winners 🤩 in all our eyes!
